A Tale of Words and Music, and the Unbreakable Bond of Sisterhood
From their early days, L.C. Moon and her sister Lana Chacra were inseparable. Their days were spent in their make-belief world, lost in intricate stories of their own making. L.C. was always drawn to complex narratives, often plunging her alter egos into trying journeys that would test their resilience. But it was Lana, with her fearless optimism and grandiose dreams, who would always bring the music back to their lives. And so, throughout their childhood, their artistic instincts opened the door for their imagination to take flight.
As they grew up, their childhood bond evolved. One picked up a pen, and one sat down at a piano. For a time, their compositions would not merge. Lana created emotionally impactful pieces. L.C. fought up her demons on paper.
It would only be decades later, by returning to the beginning, to the dark fairy tales that had defined their childhood, that L.C. and Lana’s artistic paths would merge again. But it was not planned. It happened on its own, as the best things in life always do.
In 2014, L.C. Moon began penning down the twisted love story that had haunted her since adolescence. When she shared a rough draft with her sister, Lana understood what A Bedtime Story (Beauty Meets the Beast) was meant to be. It was the first installment of the Fairy Tales From the Underworld trilogy.
It was more than a book. It was a world recreated from their childhood. As Lana read the somber tale, melodies started to dance in her mind, enhancing the narrative and inspiring her to write an original soundtrack for the novel.
And so Lana composed a piece and played it for L.C. without providing any context. It was Renovanem, though at the time, it had no name. It was Laura’s song, L.C. felt as the notes revealed themselves. L.C. heard her main character’s tale in the powerful and emotional piece that told the story of hardship and resilience through music.
Tentatively, the younger sister asked if this track could be used for Fairy Tales From the Underworld. The older sister simply smiled and said, "That’s where it belongs. The music came from the same place as your story."
